America’s veterans gave years of their lives, and in many cases far more, in service to this country. At Lighthouse Home Care, we believe they deserve nothing less than exceptional care in return.
Our veteran home care services are built around the values veterans live by: respect, reliability, honor, and dedication. We serve the men and women of our armed forces with the same commitment they showed us.
Veterans often face a distinct set of health challenges that require caregivers who understand, not just assist. From physical injuries and chronic pain to PTSD, moral injury, and the psychological weight of service, effective care for veterans goes beyond tasks. It requires genuine respect and sensitivity.
All Lighthouse caregivers serving veteran clients receive guidance on veteran-specific needs and communication approaches to ensure every interaction is respectful, empowering, and free from unnecessary triggers or distress.
Many veterans and their surviving spouses may be eligible for VA benefits that help cover the cost of home care services. These include:
VA Aid & Attendance Benefit
A pension supplement available to veterans who need help with daily activities. This benefit can significantly offset the cost of professional home care.
Veterans Directed Care (VDC) Program
Allows eligible veterans to self-direct their own home and community-based care — including choosing their care provider.
Homemaker & Home Health Aide Program
VA-funded services for veterans who need in-home support with daily activities and personal care.
Important: We encourage all veteran families to contact their local VA office or a VSO (Veterans Service Organization) to explore available benefits before assuming care is unaffordable.
Wisconsin is home to a proud and substantial veteran community. Lighthouse Home Care is honored to serve veterans and their families throughout Middleton, Madison, Verona, Sun Prairie, and surrounding Dane County communities.
We are committed to building relationships with local VA offices, veteran service organizations, and veteran community groups so we can be the most trusted home care resource for those who served.
We will always treat our veteran clients with the honor, dignity, and seriousness their service deserves. When a veteran opens their door to us, we consider it a privilege, and we never take that lightly.
